Happy to announce three upcoming releases on elsewhere for the fall of 2023. This time, for a series of three, we will present three works by contemporary composers that primarily or partially use early music instruments. I am so thrilled to be able to release these fantastic musicians' works. (To be released on November 1, 2023) Ivan Vukosavljević - Slow Roads (elsewhere 027) 'Slow Roads' is an album of eight pieces written by Hague-based Serbian composer Ivan Vukosavljević between 2019 and 2022, for solo 1/4 comma meantone organ. All eight pieces were recorded in 2022 on five different historic organs, dating from the early 16th to mid-17th centuries, located in medieval churches scattered throughout the countryside of the northern Netherlands. Five of the eight pieces were performed by Tineke Steenbrink, co-founder of the Dutch early music ensemble Holland Baroque. Francesca Ajossa, Jan Hage and Lise Morrison performed one piece each. Michael Pisaro-Liu - A room outdoors (Guy Vandromme / Adriaan Severins / Luciana Elizondo / Fabio Gionfrida) (elsewhere 028-2) 'A room outdoors' is a 48 minute piece written in 2006 by Michael Pisaro-Liu for sustaining instrument, harmonium and field recordings. This was the first work in which Pisaro-Liu incorporated field recordings into the score. This double CD contains two different realizations of the piece, one made in Brussels during the lockdown in 2020 and one set up in Cremona in 2023, realized by the following artists: Disc 1 features Belgium-based Guy Vandromme (keyboards) and Adriaan Severins (field recordings and synthesizer), Disc 2 features Italy-based Luciana Elizondo (viola da gamba) and Fabio Gionfrida (field recordings), in collaboration with Guy Vandromme (Indian harmonium). Jürg Frey - Les Signes Passagers (Keiko Shichijo - fortepiano) (elsewhere 029) 'Les signes passagers' is an album of seven pieces for solo fortepiano written by Jürg Frey in 2021, commissioned by the Amsterdam-based pianist/fortepianist Keiko Shichijo. It was premiered by Shichijo on February 5, 2022 at the Concertgebouw Brugge during the SLOW Festival. In the same year, Shichijo performed the piece again at the November Music 2022 and later recorded it for this album in April 2023 at the Concertgebouw Brugge in the presence of the composer. (CD preorders for all three titles will start here on the label’s website
and Bandcamp in mid-September.)

Giovanni Di Domenico / Silvia Tarozzi / Emmanuel Holterbach - L’Occhio Del Vedere (elsewhere 024) I've been fascinated by this one-hour piece by the trio of Giovanni Di Domenico (piano), Silvia Tarozzi (violin, 1/16th of a tone tuned violin), and Emmanuel Holterbach (large frame drum) since the moment I first heard it. It resonates deeply with the aesthetic of the work that my label hopes to bring to the world, and I am very happy to be able to add this fantastic CD to my label's catalog. Many thanks to Giovanni, Silvia, and Emmanuel for this great piece, and also to Emmanuel for his beautiful cover photograph. (YZ) > CD preorder Germaine Sijstermans / Koen Nutters / Reinier van Houdt - Circles, Reeds, and Memories (elsewhere 025) When I heard this live recording of the trio last December, I was amazed at the immense power that the rapport between the three - Germaine, Koen, and Reinier - created in the music, even though it was only their first meeting as a trio. I have listened to it numerous times since then until now, and every time the quality of the music makes me feel very happy that I decided to release it. Many thanks to Germaine, Koen, and Reinier for these amazing pieces/performances, and to Taku Unami for his magical mastering as always. (YZ) > CD preorder Jürg Frey: Continuité, fragilité, résonance (Quatuor Bozzini / Konus Quartett) (elsewhere 026) After a year and a half of planning and various delays due to the Covid pandemic, I am thrilled to finally have this major project completed. Both Quatuor Bozzini and Konus Quartett realized this Frey double quartet piece in a supreme performance and showed me a compelling new aspect in Frey's compositions that I had not known before. My sincere thanks to Jürg for this beautiful piece, to the musicians of both quartets for their blissful performance, and to Fabio Oehrli for his exquisite engineering work from recording to mastering. Thanks for looking and hopefully participating! - Yuko Happy to announce another upcoming CD release on elsewhere for the spring of 2023. Germaine Sijstermans / Koen Nutters / Reinier van Houdt - Circles, Reeds, and Memories (elsewhere 025) Three Dutch composers/performers, Reinier van Houdt, Germaine Sijstermans, and Koen Nutters, have each released their own work on elsewhere music in recent years. The three had a concert last December at the Savelberg Chapel, a small church in Heerlen, Limburg (NL), where they played three trio pieces, one written by each: 'Linden' (Sijstermans), 'A Piece with Memories' (Nutters), and 'Harmonic Circles' (van Houdt). Using various instruments including clarinets, indian harmonium, harmona organ, voices, field recordings, sine tones, objects, and tapes, the trio played in perfect synch, giving the three pieces rich, complex layers of sound and profundity, enveloping the audience in a vibrant yet contemplative space. TRACK LIST 1. Linden (2020) (Germaine Sijstermans) 2. A Piece with Memories (2017) (Koen Nutters) 3.
