Koen Nutters is a Dutch musician, composer, writer, curator, and organizer, mostly working in the field of experimental music, using text-scores, structured improvisation and more conceptual operations to create a wide variety of different music, performances, texts and events. He is a founding member of the N-Collective, Konzert Minimal and the concert series DNK Amsterdam and currently performs with groups such as The Pitch, DNK Ensemble, Post-Music, And/In, and The Names.
He has close ties to the Wandelweiser composers group and the Berlin reductionist scene and has worked with many experimental musicians and composers such as: Peter Ablinger, Ryoko Akama, Antoine Beuger, Joanna Bailie, Lucio Capece, Axel Dörner, Heather Frasch, Christian Kesten, Joseph Kudirka, Catherine Lamb, Lo Wie, Radu Malfatti, Michael Pisaro, Polwechsel, Gert-Jan Prins, Rishin Singh, Taku Sugimoto, Stefan Thut, Raed Yassin, and Manfred Werder, to perform his own music as well as performing collaborations and compositions of theirs.
His work with The Pitch has been released on numerous labels for the last 10 years. And his own compositions have recently appeared on labels such as Radu Malfatti's B-Boim Records and the Japanese Experimental music label: Meenna / Ftarri.
He lives and works in Amsterdam and Berlin.
