Fabio Gionfrida is a musician, composer and sound engineer based in Cremona, Italy. He studied double bass and viola da gamba at the A. Casella Conservatory in L'Aquila and engineering at the Sapienza University in Rome. In 2004 he performed the live electronics in Experimentum Mundi Remix by Giorgio Battistelli at the Auditorium Parco della Musica in Rome. He then composed the stage music for Sarah Kane's monologue 4:48 Psychosis, performed by the actress Giovanna Mezzogiorno, and for András Juhász's multimedia work Digital Pursuit at the Academy of Hungary in Rome. In 2012 he founded the record label co'l partire, which takes its name from a 16th century madrigal by Cipriano De Rore. In 2019, together with the director Sol Capasso, he created the installations Canti Orfici, based on poems by Dino Campana, at the Brera Academy in Milan, and Cinema Tognazzi, in an abandoned cinema in Cremona. The music of the Renaissance is constantly present in his mind, together with the work of the great innovators of all time, in all disciplines of arts, up to the present day. As a sound engineer he has recorded albums for the RaiCom, Urania Records and The Audiophile Society labels.
