Henriette Groth is a Danish multi-instrumentalist, composer, and performer who works at the intersection of improvisation and composition. She graduated in 2005 with a degree in classical piano from the Rhythmic Music Conservatory in Copenhagen. Her artistic practice spans improvised, electroacoustic, and contemporary music, with a clear focus on the boundary between composed form and free improvisation.

Groth is known for her versatile and interdisciplinary approach to sound. She composes music for film, contemporary dance, theater, and poetry across Scandinavia, including productions such as Landet som ikke er (2018) and Det springende punkt (2013 & 2015) at Teatret ved Sorte Hest. Her compositions often blend melodic elements with abstract, textural material, and frequently incorporate text and electronics.

As a performer, she has appeared at festivals like VINTERJAZZ 2017 in Copenhagen and collaborated with artists such as August Engkilde (Snow) and Lotte Anker (Du Fugl). Her stage work includes projects with Teater Republique, Mute Comp., Det Flydende Teater, Teater GLIMT, and Københavns Musikteater.

Her primary instruments are piano, viola, and clarinet, and she brings a genre-crossing sensibility to everything she does. Henriette Groth is a distinctive voice in Scandinavian contemporary music and a key figure in the field of experimental sound art.
