Happy to announce another upcoming double CD release on elsewhere for summer 2022. Germaine Sijstermans - Betula (elsewhere 023-2) The double album will contain Dutch composer/clarinettist Germaine Sijstermans' seven pieces, performed by the ensemble of Antoine Beuger (concert flute), Germaine Sijstermans (clarinet), Rishin Singh (trombone), Johnny Chang (viola), Fredrik Rasten (guitar), Leo Svirsky (accordion). All tracks were recorded by Joel Thurman at Roepaen, Ottersum, the Netherlands in September 2019. I first came to know Germaine when I listened to her realization of Anastassis Philippakopoulos' clarinet piece online in the fall of 2018, which was so beautiful, tranquil and profound that it stayed in my mind for a very long time. Since then, I was hoping to have her on my label someday, and am now very excited to be able to put out these fantastic compositions of Germaine, performed by her exquisite ensemble on a double CD. ** This double CD will be released around the same time in July as Jürg Frey: Lieues d'ombres (performed by Reinier van Houdt) (elsewhere 020-3). CD preorders for both titles will start in late May or early June.

Happy to announce another upcoming triple CD release on elsewhere for autumn 2022. Jürg Frey: Lieues d'ombres (elsewhere 020-3) - piano by Reinier van Houdt I am extremely thrilled about this project that I've been planning and working on with Reinier and Jürg for two years. It is the second triple CD project that I worked on with Reinier since we put out Michael Pisaro-Liu's 'The Earth and The Sky' (ErstClass 001-3) in 2016. This time we featured Jürg Frey's seven solo piano works, including one previously unreleased work. All tracks were recorded by Micha de Kanter at The Muziekcentrum van de Omroep (MCO) in Hilversum over three days in July 2021, with the presence of the composer. We are now working on the final stage of mixing, and will be able to start CD preorders by late August or early September. |
